Ministry Overview

Cherish Gala from Water of Life Media on Vimeo.

Cherish is a ministry that provides spiritual, physical, and emotional support to pregnant teens and young moms. Many young moms do not have access to either supportive relationships or baby care items that are helpful or essential for providing for their children. Cherish teams with local churches to receive donated baby furniture items like bassinets, strollers, and car seats to furnish young moms the opportunity to the beauty and joy of caring for their new baby, and not just "making do" without. The ministry is designed to demonstrate the compassion of Christ through long-term caring relationships, and to open the door of opportunity for a new life available through Jesus.

Rachel Tucker Bio:

In 2011 the Lord put it on Rachel’s heart to start Cherish Ministry.  For the last 15 years Rachel Tucker's urban and international ministry experience has brought her across the paths of hurting people from single mothers in the inner city housing projects of Los Angeles to isolated orphanages in the mountains of Transylvania. Having grown up in the church, when she was a little girl she used to walk down the pews delivering little pieces of paper from her grandfather Dick Mills that said "A word from the Lord just for you." Seeing the tears that ran down the faces of some receiving those notes, Rachel discovered the power that a personal touch from God brings. Rachel's local ministry has focused on teaching and ministering healing to marginalized people including youth offenders, drug addicts, prostitutes, and foster care children.
